Fall Play at Greene County High School Sure to Bring “The Funny” | Raccoon Valley Radio

A reminder: the fall play for Greene County High School is happening tonight and tomorrow.

“Boyfriend by Blackmail” will be in the high school auditorium in Jefferson at 7pm both evenings. It is a comedy written by Tony Howell about a magazine writer from Chicago who is going back to her hometown for her sister’s high school graduation. She convinces a coworker to portray her fictitious boyfriend on the trip.

Director Darren Jackson says they re-wrote part of the play to make it for today’s cultural society. He believes that by having input from students, the show has more ownership for them.

“It’s fantastic to have such a talented group be able to do this. It takes some pressure off of my shoulders, and plus I think that it brings out more of a youthful audience too, which is what we want. We want more kids to participate in the play and definitely come to the play.”

To that end, Jackson says ticket prices are affordable for students at $1 each and adults are $5. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
